I had dinner with Mayuko tonight in Shinagawa.  This microbrewery serves American food next to a canal.  The ambiance is nice, but as this is the middle of summer, it would have been nice to have more air conditioning.  Also, it was really crowded, which is proof of how good the food is.  I had the wine sampler appetizer, which is four different beers for about 1000 yen.  The entrees were really good as well. 

At over 4000yen per person, a lot of the cost is for the intangibles.  This is a nice place to come for a special occasion but definitely not a regular stop on my dining rotation due to both the cost as well as the location.  Getting there is at least a 30-minute affair.
